Corinne Boocock Director: Australasian Dance Association Corinne trained in RAD ballet and NZAMD jazz from the age of seven. Corinne began teaching and choreographing musicals and performances at fifteen. She has danced in theatre performances, television commercials and music videos and choreographed for full-scale shows in Auckland. Corinne is the Principal teacher and Director of the Victoria Phillips Academy of Jazz, a dance school of over 600 students specialising in jazz and hip hop dance. In 1999 Corinne passed her Advanced 3 and Solo Seal American Jazz Dance examinations with Honours. She was awarded the Mary Evers Memorial Scholarship as the most deserving Advanced student in New Zealand. In 2002, Corinne’s dance academy was presented the Studio Choreography Award at the New Zealand regionals of the Australian Showcase Competitions. A number of Corinne’s students have consistently been awarded top examination results in New Zealand for their American Jazz Dance examinations. Corinne also holds a Bachelor of Communications and is a public relations/communications consultant.
Karleen Edmonds Director: Australasian Dance Association Karleen has specialised in Hip Hop for nine years with foundation training in both ballet and jazz. Her dancing extended to include aerobics where she won titles in teams and pairs in aerobic competitions. As a dancer, Karleen’s performance work has included stage, television and commercial work including a dance tour of Canada and the United States. She has choreographed for a number of prominent New Zealand musicians and clients such as Coca Cola. Karleen has a degree in Sports Science and teaches Hip Hop freelance to a number of Auckland dance studios, secondary schools and tertiary institutions. |
